Privacy Policy

InterviewDeck (www.interviewdeck.in) is a free, searchable bank of coding and interview questions, operated by Chinmay Naik. This page explains what data the site handles, what is optional, and how to reach us. The short version: no account is required, nothing is sold, and there are no ads or third-party analytics trackers.

1. Data stored on your device

Most of what InterviewDeck remembers stays in your own browser (localStorage) and never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in:

• Bookmarks, completed-question progress, and filters
• Personal notes, quick notes, tags, and text highlights
• Theme preference (light/dark) and other UI settings

You can remove all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for interviewdeck.in.

2. Optional Google Sign-In & sync

Signing in is entirely optional — every feature works without it. If you choose to sign in with Google (to sync bookmarks, notes, and progress across devices), we receive your basic Google profile (name, email address, and profile picture) through Firebase Authentication, and your synced content is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account. We use this data only to provide sync; it is never sold or shared for marketing.

To remove your synced data, email us (address below) from the Google account you signed in with and we will delete it.

3. AI Helper

If you use the AI Helper, the messages you type (and the question being discussed) are sent through our server to a third-party AI provider (Groq) to generate the response. Conversations are used only to answer your query. Please don't include personal or sensitive information in AI Helper chats.

4. Issue reports

If you report an issue on a question, the report text you submit is stored so we can review and fix the content. Reports are not linked to you unless you are signed in.

5. Third-party services

The site relies on a few external services, each of which may see standard technical data (such as your IP address) as part of serving requests:

• Vercel — hosts the website
• Google Firebase — optional sign-in and sync (see section 2)
• Groq — AI Helper responses (see section 3)
• GitHub / jsDelivr — serves the question content
• Google Fonts — serves the webfonts

Each service processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not run advertising networks or third-party analytics trackers on this site.

6. Cookies

InterviewDeck itself does not set tracking cookies. Firebase may use cookies or similar storage strictly to keep you signed in if you use Google Sign-In.

7. Children's privacy

The site is a general-audience study tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
